808 Grindz Cafe offers big portions of delicious food that is sure to satisfy! I came here with a medium sized party for breakfast and we were greeted and swiftly seated by the friendly staff. I ordered the shortrib moco with fried rice, which turned out being absolutely delicious! The fried rice was super flavorful, and the shortribs were juicy and tender. We also split a serving of the macadamia nut pancakes, and WOW they were amazing! The pancakes were soft and fluffy, sweet but not overpowering so. The sauce was nutty and was just so tasty! Overall 808 grindz cafe was a great experience, and I can't wait to come here again!

Place is the Grindz 4 sho!!!! Loco Moco and pork hash was on hit! We coming back 4 mo!!! TASTY

Came to try this place with the family since others went during the week and enjoyed it. The portions are huge and the staff was friendly. The ambience is meh. You order at a window and they bring you the food in takeout containers. I wanted to try Portuguese sausages so I ordered the Portuguese Moco with fried eggs.

Really delicious hearty food with lots of unique menu items and specials. Large portion sizes. Probably two plates could have fed the three of us. Recommend the lau lau plate and the Da Braddahz Moco. The fish benedict was less unique and the English muffins was too soft and soggy. Located in a plaza with lots of parking. The con is that the food took so long to be ready. We waited 30 minutes when it wasn't super busy and we could see the staff just chillin in the kitchen. That part was disappointing. Maybe that is wh

Unanimously our favorite meal of our trip to the Big Island! We're so glad we came and would eagerly come again :) 808 Grindz looks like an unassuming little place without much decor, but upon walking in you're immediately greeted with a warm "Aloha!" and yummy smells. The menu is extensive with choices for every palate (plus some daily specials that may be posted near the cashier), and we found everything we ordered to be cooked just right. Our party of 5 each got an item and despite being very hungry, barely finished our items - as other reviews comment, portions are generous and every bite is good! We tried: - Hot Kona coffee: good brew with nutty and raisiny notes, not just the taste of burnt drip - Kawabanga breakfast: great way to try all the protein options! - Smoked pork loco: a special of the day, very yummy gravy - Portuguese sausage fried rice: a moist and rich (but not excessively heavy) fried rice, especially yummy with egg yolk - 808 Grindz Attack with an upgrade for flavored pancakes: A yummy and well-cooked (not overcooked omelette) with ketchup and the crispy hash browns hit the spot! We upgraded the plain pancakes to macademic nut pancakes with the mac-nilla sauce and thought that these pancakes made some of the best bites - buttered, fluffy, sweet but not too sweet - Da Bene Trio - a fun and easy way to try a couple proteins and flavor profiles, each topped with a perfectly cooked benedict egg. The crab cake option was an interesting one! I love a place with a kind and humble ambiance, friendly staff, and both classic and unique options on the reasonably-priced menu. The restaurant started getting pretty busy around 10am for Saturday brunch but service was efficient and there's indoor and outdoor seating that generally open up. Note that the restroom is across the plaza and accessed with a special key. Parking however is easy with plenty of plaza spots to select from.

I couldn't recommend this place more. The staff is super friendly, portions are large, prices are unbeatable, and the food is delicious!!! I got a side of mac salad for $2.50 and it seemed like a full portion size.

DAY 4 of Vacation - We didn't really have anything planned today, so we winged it the whole day. What best way to start off our day than with some breakfast. CASH ONLY! Come prepared! Parking: Large parking lot. Finding a spot is easy. Free parking. Ambiance/Environment: The outside doesn't look like much. It's a very casual and local spot. They have a medium size space with a good amount of indoor seating. No outdoor seating. This place is popping, so try to come early. Service: When you walk in, you'd wait in line, overlook the menu, order at the window, then seat yourself. You can either order take out or dine in. We dined in. You get the napkins and utensils yourself from the shelf in the back. They do not offer complimentary water; only bottled water. They do sell other drinks too. A worker checked on us once, but you're pretty much on your own. There is a public restroom outside in the left corner of the plaza. The worker will show you how to get there on a map and give you a key. What I ordered: We all ordered different dishes. Unfortunately, they did not have any steak so they substituted it with short ribs. Some of us ordered lunch, but I ordered "Da Kanak Attack" from their 808 All Day section. This dish is a three egg omelet w/ diced ham, spam, Vienna, bacon, onions, & mix cheese. I chose hash browns as my choice of starch. I really liked my dish! The omelet was cooked well, and it was stuffed with a good amount of toppings. The hash browns were crispy and seasoned perfectly. Overall, we all enjoyed everything and left fulfilled!
